What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
Whilst constructing my media product i have learnt the importance of adobe photo shop and how significant it is to makers of media products. Photo shop allowed me to produced an authentic music magazine. It helped me to crop photo's and add further adjustments to photo's such brightness, darkness, smudging and blurring. I also used other technologies such as slide share. This is an online site that allowed me to post a slide show on my blog so I was using a variety of different medias.
Another technology that I used was Adobe Audition. I used this when constructing focus group recording. Adobe Audition allowed me to merge my recordings together creating a full sound recording of my focus group.
Instead of using a folder to gather our work, we each created blogs to post our work on. Having blog allowed me to easily transfer print screens and other work to my blog. It also meant that providing there is internet I have easy access to my work at all times.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Looking back at my preliminary task I have learnt that to produce a good quality, authentic product, I must practice my skills on photoshop.
From looking at the differences between my preliminary front and contents page and looking at my final product I can see that my knowledge of how to construct a magazine has grown tremondously. When producing my preliminary task I was not aware of Factors such colour schemes and fonts matching the style of the magazine and attracting the target audience. From the time of making my preliminary task and making my final product my knowledge of how to use photoshop grew, along with my knowlege of magazine presentational devices and how to attract your target audience. This growth in knowledge allowed me to my final product to look much more professional and authentic compared to my preliminary task.

Q and NME front page analysis and comparison
Both Q magazine and NME share similarities in the use of presentational devices. The Mastheads both share the same colour scheme red and white. The colour red represents the theme of danger, power and love. In relation to the magazines the masthead implies the idea of power and superiority. In addition Q utilities a main image of a more mature group on a white background.This is eye catching and serves to draw on the readers attention whilst gratifying the target audience. The cover lines such as 'Exclusive New Interviews' indicates that Q can meet audience needs by delivering news that cannot be found in any other magazine. However there are some key difference's between the two texts such as NME is far more bold and colourful. It uses large typography and a variety of additional images to target its young audience. Whereas Q is far more sophisticated and appearing to target an older, more mature audience. Each magazine has its own brand of identity. This is evident in the colour schemes which are consistent throughout the front covers of both magazines.

In the last year Rare³ have exploded onto the music scene with their number one chart seller ‘I can’. Before getting signed to polydor records Rare³ to carry out a music career and after being signed and dropped from two records labels Rare³ finally found success with polydor records ‘ Third times the charm’ said Aliysa from the up and coming group. In an exclusive interview with the group, R&B Xclusive managed to get inside the heads of the UK’s favourite urban stars.
Alex: So guys it’s a pleasure to have you here and may I just say congratulations for gaining 3 MOBO nominations. How do you guys feel about that?
Remel: Oh wow man I still haven’t even rapped my head around it like a year ago we were putting out our demo’s to every label possible and now like we’ve been nominate for 3 MOBO’s its just unreal.
Alex: and I’ve had a recent update from a very reliable source saying that it is very likely that you will be the closing the MOBO’s, is there any truth in this little rumour?
Dwayne: Oh my days the cat is out of the bag already, we only found out about this like what a couple hours ago and you know about this already
Alex: Well I told you my source is reliable (they laugh)
Dwayne: Yeah they must be, but yeah we couldn’t believe it, like we’ve watched our favourite artists close the show so its really just such an honour
Alex: Have you guys decided on a song yet, what can we expect from you for this performance?
Aliysa: We’re gonNa perform our first hit ‘ I can’ as you know it just seems appropriate as like this song was our breaking out single and it did get us our nominations, but as for the performance we don’t wanna give away too much all I’m going to say is we’ll be going out on a bang.
Alex: Going out on a bang that sounds explosive I can’t way to see you perform at the MOBO’s. I’m sorry I just have to ask this as everyone’s talking about it after those pictures in the newspapers are you dating Shane from the RnB group Explicit?
Aliysa: (they all laugh) Oh my I’ve been wondering when this question would come up. Uhm yeah it is official now, we did try to hide it from the press so it wouldn’t interfere with our work lives. So now I’m guessing that leaving the music awards after party wasn’t one of my smartest ideas (she laughs) but yeah we are dating and now it’s all out in the open.
Alex: So how serious is it between you two?
Aliysa: Well there’s not going to be any wedding bells anytime soon if that’s what your implying (they laugh) well it’s early days, we’ve only been seeing each other for a couple of months so we shall have to wait and see. But I promise Alex you will be the first to know of any updates.
Alex: Well thank you I’ll hold you to that. Moving onto your music I hear from another of my reliable sources that you’ve collaborated with some big names in the music industry on your new album?
Dwayne: Wow you seem to have a lot of reliable sources (he laughs)
Alex: Well that’s why they say I’m the best in the business (they all laugh)
Dwayne: Yeah we’ve been like really lucky. Our producer David Stans really hooked us up with all these amazing artists and producers. Lil wayne produced one of our singles which was like unbelievable coz we are BIG fans of his and we collaborated with some artists out their like Big Tee, Dizzle and Mo from Surveillance.
Alex: You have really been busy and working with some Hip Hop legends. If you think about it in the last year you have come so far. Have your friends and family been supportive?
Remel: Yeah they’ve been like really supportive. We don’t get to as much as we’d like too but when ever we’re back in London we always make time to see them
Aliysa: Yeah and they often come to concerts and stuff supporting us from the front row so that’s always nice to know
Alex: So what does 2011 hold for Rare³?
Aliysa: Well we’re gonna go on tour in March and we’re also working on our 2nd album which is really exciting. We’ve also been contacted by MTV, they want to do a reality show about young fly up and coming stars. We were like really surprised like we’re just like normal people that like group up in the hood like it’s weird that people would want to produce a TV series all about us (they laugh).
Alex: One last question what can we be expecting from you all on your first tour?
Remel: Well all I’m going to say is their will be some guest appearances and we’re gonna be doing it big on our, But I don’t want to give too much away so all I’m gonna say is Watch This Space!
